The Nike Air More Uptempo GS “Rayguns” is the youth-sized version of the colorway included in Nike's collection of retro basketball shoes dedicated to the fictional Roswell Rayguns. Legendary models like the Nike Blazer Mid, Air Force 1, and Air Raid, along with this Air More Uptempo, formed a quartet of shoes that draw from the team uniform colors of the Rayguns, an ABA inspired basketball team created by Nike for an advertisement that aired during the 2002 NBA Playoffs. The Air More Uptempo’s signature graffiti-style “AIR” branding appears in black, orange, and yellowing outlining on either side of the shoe. A yellow Swoosh is stitched onto the toe and jeweled Swoosh can be found on the heel. Yellow and orange nylon pull tabs on the tongue and heel, respectively, assist with on/off wearability. The glossy orange leather detailing on the white leather tongue features a yellow Swoosh. Underfoot, the model’s visible Air units in the midsole complete the look. Release date: March 29, 2021.
